HYDERABAD: Four new disciplines introduced in SU

HYDERABAD, Oct 29: The director, Admissions, University of Sindh, has announced on Tuesday that the University has introduced four new disciplines — MSc in Environmental Sciences, MA in Women Development Studies, MSc in Biotechnology, and BS and MSc in Biochemistry — from the academic session 2003.

He said the university had started admissions for a four-semester MSc programme in Environmental Sciences. Those candidates who are graduates in chemistry and any biological science subjects with a minimum of 45 per cent marks are eligible to fill their admission forms.

For admissions in MA Women Development Studies, the candidates who have completed graduation in any discipline preferably sociology/economics will be eligible for admission in a four-semester Masters degree programme.

For admissions in a four-semester MSc Biotechnology programme, the candidates who are graduates in chemistry and any biological science subject with a minimum of 45 per cent marks are eligible for admissions.

For admissions in an eight-semester BS Biochemistry, the candidates who have completed HSC Part II in a pre-medical group and for admissions in a four-semester MSc Biochemistry the candidates who are graduates in chemistry and biology subjects preferably with biochemistry with minimum 45 per cent marks are eligible to seek admission.

The admissions forms are available at the Habib Bank Limited Old Campus and Jamshoro branches on the prescribed form fee up to Nov 8 and to be submitted not later than Nov 9.

FAILURE CANDIDATES: The University of Sindh on Tuesday announced for the information of the students concerned, who appeared in the annual examination of 2001 but their results had been withheld due to various reasons, to get their results declared by Nov 20.

He said that these students may fill their examination forms for subjects they had failed in Part I and previous classes or Part II and final classes up to Nov 26 failing which their examination forms for the annual examinations 2002 would not be accepted thereafter.
