HYDERABAD, Oct 29: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has said that he will not withdraw from the struggle for the cause of Sindh whether the people support him or not.
Referring to Muttahida’s defeat on some seats, he said that it was a punishment for his party and his party was ready to sacrifice more seats as well for the rights of Sindh.
Addressing the MQM workers here on Monday, he said that if the people considered that the policy of the Muttahida was wrong, they were free to take any decision.
Mr Hussain said that there was no party whose leader did not strive for reaching corridors of power and assuming the offices of president and prime minister.
To a question as to when he would return to the country, he said that he was least concerned about his life and if his return would result in solution of the problems of Sindh, he was ready to lay down his life. He added that he would keep on fighting the case of Sindh and telling truth to the people till his last breath.
He said that he was very happy to witness that the Urdu and Sindhi speaking people were struggling side by side for the rights of Sindh. But, he said, the establishment was annoyed with their unity and was hatching conspiracies to shatter it.
He said that it had been proved that Sindhi-Mohajir unity was not an election-related slogan as some people were propagating.
He condemned the gruesome murder of a Kandhkot journalist, Shahid Soomro.
