By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Oct 28: Chairman, Pakistan Tanners Association chairman (southern zone), Gohar Rashid, criticized steep increase in fixed charges of power bills of the KESC.

In a statement issued on Monday, he expressed apprehensions that the 50 per cent hike in charges is bound to critically hurt industry, which was already suffering from deep recession.

Gohar Rashid pointed out that electricity and power charges have shown an increase of 275 per cent in the last few years resulting in closure of a number of industrial units creating further unemployment in the country.
