KARACHI: Cook book launched

Published October 28, 2002

KARACHI, Oct 27: A book of recipes for Pakistani and Indian dishes was launched by Khadija Soomro, wife of the Sindh Governor, Mohammedmian Soomro, at a function organized by Pakistan Federation of Business and Professional Women Organizations (PFBPWO) here on Saturday.

The book, Indo-Pakistan Cuisine, is authored by Malika Hyder Hussain.

Stressing on the significance of traditional food, speakers at the function termed them ‘part of the culture and heritage of this subcontinent’. They said though fast food has been attracting masses in Asia, traditional food has retained its taste for their appetite.

They agreed that young generation preferred fast food for its being easy-to-cook but insisted that the rest stuck to traditional food which required more time and energy.
