LAHORE, Oct 20: Imdad Hussain (Railways) played a superb final round of eight-under-64 to win the All-Pakistan Open Garrison Golf Championship professional event at Lahore Garrison course Sunday.
Imdad, who was struggling in fourth place before start of play Sunday, took the winner’s prize of Rs 32,000 along with the trophy.
Mohammad Akram, the overnight leader, finished fourth after a poor card of eight-over-80 on the final day.
Imdad birdied at the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 11th, 12th, 15th and 16th holes. However, Imdad failed by one shot to equal the course record of 63, set by Akhtar Ali nearly three years ago.
Shabbir Iqbal of Islamabad finished second at seven-under-209 after posting a card of par-72 on the final day. He did the first nine hole one-under-35 and the back nine at two-over-37.
At five-under-211, Abbas Ali and Mohammad Tariq finished third jointly.
In the amateur, section, Sardar Murad Khan with 11-over-227 won the trophy. Murad who was the joint leader with Javed A. Khan on he penultimate day, played the final round of five- over-77.
Two strokes away, Murad got the second position. He produced the final card of seven-over-79.
Adil Jehangir with a score of 233 finished third.
In the net event, Shahid Imtiaz maintained his top position with the net total of 206 and won the event. Brig Anwarullah with 208 and Major Mohammad Nisar with 210 secured the second and third position respectively.
