LAHORE, Oct 19: Most of candidates to city’s 13 National Assembly and 25 Provincial Assembly seats submitted statements of election expenses to returning officers concerned on Saturday.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had made it mandatory for every candidate to NA and PA seats to furnish details of election expenses to returning officers concerned. The ECP had fixed Rs1.5 million as maximum limit of election expenses for NA seats and Rs1 million for PA seats. All successful candidates had been directed to submit their statements by Oct 20 while the losers can submit their dues by Oct 30.

Among successful MNAs from Lahore, Sardar Aiyaz Sadiq of the PML-N, who was elected from NA-122, has declared the highest amount of election expenses —- Rs1.4 million. While election expenses of Rs815,085 declared by PML-N’s Muhammad Afzal Khokhar from PP-160 stand highest in the MPAs category.
