KARACHI: Nine cars, 13 bikes hijacked

KARACHI, Oct 18: Twenty-two vehicles — nine cars and 13 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Friday, police said.

Four cars were hijacked. Five others were stolen.

Five motorcycles were hijacked. Eight others were stolen.

Police also claimed on Friday to have recovered eight vehicles (LOG-8790, LXY-4500, AJ-8710, ACC-993, ABU-521, KAD-9585, LHX-6958, and KCT-0270).

ROBBERIES: Two robberies were committed in the city on Friday, police said.

Bandits looted Rs40,000 from an employee of a private airline on Sharea Faisal. Police said that Mohammed Naeem, aged 35, who was driving a company’s van (KH-9858), was intercepted by two unidentified armed men travelling in a car.

Naeem put up resistance to the bandits when they demanded cash from him. The bandits shot and wounded him and got away with Rs40,000.

Bandits robbed Khalid of Rs45,000 in the police limits of Kalri. They also opened fire on him. Khalid was wounded.
