KARACHI, Oct 17: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has demanded of the Sindh Governor to allow all such students of class IX who are below 14 years of age to sit in examination.
In a letter to the governor, Naimatullah Khan pointed out that the Board of Education had refused to accept the forms of students below 14 years of age, as a result of which the academic year of hundreds of students was at danger.
The Nazim said 14-year age limit for class IX students was fixed in 1992 and under the present conditions there was a need to modify the Board’s resolution, because the students of Karachi usually pass their primary class examinations in a very young age.
Naimatullah Khan requested the Governor to intervene in the matter and said the Board’s resolution of 1992 be done away with.—APP
