KARACHI: Man, boy commit suicide

KARACHI, Oct 17: A jobless young man and a 14-year-old boy committed suicide in the city on Thursday.

A jobless young man committed suicide in his house in Surjani Town on late Wednesday night.

Police said that Irshad Ali, aged 35, had been jobless for a long time and because of which he was suffering from depression. On Wednesday night he hanged himself in his house in Khuda Ki Basti, Surjani Town.

His body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem.

A 14-year-old boy hanged himself in his house in Martin Quarters on Thursday. Police said that Umair locked himself up in his room and hanged himself from the ceiling fan.

His body was sent to Civil Hospital for post-mortem.

Police said that the boy had arguments with his father a day earlier.

ACCIDENT: A young girl was run over by a train at Drigh Road railway station on Thursday.

Police said that the victim, identified as Uzma, aged 17, died when she came under the wheels of a train.

The body was sent to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre for post-mortem.

Police did not rule out the possibility of suicide.
