HYDERABAD, Oct 17: Six persons were injured in a clash between two groups of transporters in Tando Jam on Wednesday.

The incident occurred when Ahmed Makrani insisted that he had been authorized by the bus owners to take charge of the bus stand and another transporter, Tufail Khunwar, objected to his assertions.

This led to violence after exchange of hot words.

Both the groups resorted to firing besides freely using axes.

Six persons — Tufail, Masood Ahmed, Waheed Ali, Badruddin, Ahmed Makrani and Muhammad Makrani — were injured in the violence.

The injured were later shifted to the Taluka hospital in Tando Jam.

Panic gripped the area and the main road wore a deserted look after the clash.

The police registered an FIR against eight people including Ahmed Makrani, Mohammad Makrani, Akram, Qasim, Sajid, Rab Nawaz, and Inayat Rind.

Ahmed and Mohammad Makrani were later arrested.
