KARACHI: Changes to hunting permit notified


KARACHI, Oct 16: The Sindh government, in supersession of the forest, wildlife and environment department notification, October 30, 2001, has specified the birds which can be hunted on an ordinary permit.

Accordingly, the following shall be substituted with effect from Nov 2, 2002.

PARTRIDGES: 10 partridges per shooting licence, November 03,2002 to January 26, 2003; 40 partridges per shooting party comprising four or more licences with shooting days being Sundays only.

AREAS CLOSED: Talukas of Thatta, Shah Bunder, Mahal kharochan, Mirpur Sakro, Sujawal, Jati, Hyderabad, Qasimabad, Latifabad, Tando Mohammed Khan, Tando Adam, Sindhri, Sinjhoro, Tando Bago, Shaheed Fazil Rahoo, Badin, Kotri, Thano Bula Khan, Mahal Kohistan, Sehwan, Mehar, Samaro, Digri, Kunri, Chachro, Mithi, Diplo, Sakrand, Sarhari, Bhirya, Faiz Ganj, Sobhodero, Thari Mirwah, Khairpur, Rohri, Ghotki, Jacobabad, Thul, Shikarpur, Khanpur, Larkana, Kamber, Garhi Khairo, Miro Khan and Malir shall remain closed of hunting.

AREAS OPEN: Talukas of Keti Bunder, Ghorabari, Mirpur Bathoro, Matiari, Tando Allahyar, Hala, Sanghar, Khipro, Jam Nawaz Ali, Matli, Talhar, Johi, Khairpur Nathan Shah, Mirpurkhas, Kot Ghulam Muhammad, Umerkot, Nagarparkar, Pithoro, Nawabshah, Nara, Daulatpur, Naushahro Feroze, Kandiaro, Dadu, Moro, Kotdiji, Gambat, Kingri, Sukkur, Pano Aqil, Mirpur Mathelo, Ubauro, Kandhkot, Kashmore, Ghari Yaseen, Lakhi Ghulam Shah, Warah, Shahdadkot, Dokri, Ratodero and Karachi (all former districts) shall remain open for hunting.

PROHIBITED AREAS: National Park, game sanctuaries and game reserves and all Kutcha areas in the riverine belt shall remain closed for hunting.

SANDGROUSE: 10 sandgrouse per shooting licence, November 3, to January 26; 40 sandgrouse per shooting party comprising four or more licences, shooting days Sundays only; areas same as those in case of partridges.

HARE: five hares per shooting licence, November 3 to January 26; 20 hares per shooting party comprising four or more licences with Sun-days being the shooting days.—APP
