LAHORE, Oct 15: A seven-event card, has been laid out for the Lahore Gymkhana races at Racecourse Wednesday.

The events are made up of ordinary acceptors, comprising the lower divisions of class VII division V down to division VIII, to be run over the sprinting distance of 1000 metres. In all, 57 runners have been accepted for all the six events, barring last-minute withdrawals.

The feature event has ten runners, if all accepted at the declaration of riders. This seems to be a match between two contestants, namely, Cape Town and Fiji.

Cape Town is a four-year-old bay colt from Computer Folly out-of-Home Made, who invariably is slow to take start. He has won one race and placed four times in his five previous outings.

Bay mare Fiji has won twice and placed on the board five times in her seven previous outings.

Whoever makes a good start should pick up the spoils. The other eight acceptors have either won a couple of races and in the process come down in the handicap or have not at all won even a single race and been demoted in weight scales.

The Wazirabad Plate, class VII division V A will be the sixth and last race of the day.

The fifth and supporting event, the Wazirabad Plate class VII division V B looks an open affair. At least five of the ten acceptors stand an equal chance if sent on job.

Four contestants are on chance in the fourth race. They are: My Fantasy, Fifty Six Fifty Six, Irslan and Bach View. They should fight to pick up the spoils in this event.

The first race will be held at 1.00pm.
