RAWALPINDI, Oct 15: The business community has been given a two-day deadline to remove encroachments from the city or else face a clean-up operation, sources said.

Both the district government and the Tehsil Municipal Administration on Tuesday held a meeting to give final shape to a joint operation in this regard.

It was decided that the Tehsil Nazim, Raja Hamid Nawaz, would meet the trader leaders to convey the administration’s resolve to go ahead with the operation after the expiry of the deadline.

The meeting decided to suspend two inspectors of the anti- encroachment squad who were patronising encroachers.
