KARACHI, Oct 15: Twenty-two vehicles — eight cars and 14 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Tuesday, police said.

Seven cars were hijacked in areas, including North Nazimabad, PECHS, and Sharea Faisal. Another was stolen in Ferozabad.

Nine motorcycles were hijacked. Five others were stolen.

The motorcycles were hijacked/stolen in various localities, including Azizabad, Orangi Extension, Jamshed Quarters, North Nazimabad, Joharabad and Samanabad.

Police also claimed on Tuesday to have recovered three stolen cars (ACF-636, AB-6202 and QAF-936) and three motorcycles (KAB-231, KCO-5150 and DU-9876).

ACCIDENTS: Reckless driving claimed two lives in the city.

Mohammed Afzal, aged 16, who was travelling on a Muslim coach, died when he came under the wheels of the coach while getting down from it in Keamari near the W-11 bus terminus. He died on the spot.

The body was sent to a hospital for autopsy.

Ali Akbar died in a hit-and-run road accident in SITE.

Police said an unidentified vehicle hit Akbar near Valika Hospital.

He was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

WOUNDED: Two undertrial prisoners and a passerby were shot and wounded on the premises of the City Courts.
