KARACHI, Oct 15: The Grand National Alliance (GDA) on Tuesday set up a five-member committee to hold talks with the parliamentary groups of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, the PML (functional), Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal and the newly-elected independent members of Sindh Assembly for formation of government in the province.

This was announced by Alliance chairman Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi at a press briefing after a joint parliamentary meeting of the Alliance at his residence.

The committee comprised GDA parliamentary coordinator Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi, Ghaus Bux Mahar, Liaquat Ali Khan Jatoi and Nadir Akmal Khan Leghari.

Jatoi said the GDA meeting discussed the future line of action. It is a matter of fact that no political party is in a position to form its government at national or provincial levels and the GDA would try to form governments with like-minded parties, he maintained.

In Sindh, Jatoi said, the GDA would nominate joint candidates for election to the Senate. Moreover, he said, there would be one joint parliamentary leader of the Sindh Democratic Alliance and the PML (QA) in the Sindh Assembly.—APP
