SARGODHA, Oct 12: Mutahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) does endorse the Taliban style of governance but it will not enforce it in Pakistan, says alliance’s Punjab president Hafiz Muhammad Idrees.
On a brief visit to the city on Saturday, Idrees said the MMA would follow a system based on justice.
After coming into power, he said, the alliance would not try to change the prevalent system and institutions. “People have reposed confidence in us and we will not disappoint them.”
Idrees said the future strategy of the MMA would be finalized at its general council meeting within a couple of days. He said the MMA had emerged as a major alliance and it would improve its position in the Punjab and Sindh as well in future.
To a question, he apprehended the present parliament had little chance to complete its term.
He alleged that MMA nominees for NA-66 and NA-67 had been defeated through vote fraud. The alliance would move the election tribunal.
