Six IT officers promoted

ISLAMABAD, Oct 10: Six officers of the income tax group have been promoted from grade 20 to 21.

Those, who were promoted from grade 20 to 21 included Mumtaz Ahmed Shaikh, Abdul Gafar, Ihsan ul Haq, Arshad Pervaiz, Salman Nabi and Mahmood Saleem, said a senior official in the CBR.

These officers will be posted as members at CBR, member tribunals, member monopoly control authority and director general inspection direct taxes as summaries of promotion have already been approved by the chief executive secretariat, said the official.

Two posts of members would fall vacant as present member monopoly control authority and one member income tax tribunal were set to retire by end of the current month.

According to the official, the CBR was likely to replace the current director general, customs intelligence, Mohsin Asad, with an ex-army general.

Following the appointment of member customs Dr. Manzoor as trade ambassador to Geneva the seat fell vacant. Mohsin Asad, Yasin Tahir and Shahid Ahmed are in the run for member customs at CBR.
