By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Oct 9: The dollar shed four paisa in the inter-bank market on Wednesday and closed at Rs59.08/Rs59.10 for buying and selling against the previous close of Rs59.12/Rs59.14. Some bankers said that earlier in the day the dollar traded as low as Rs59.06/Rs 59.08.

Senior bankers said the dollar fell on heavy inflows amidst low demand but they could not cite any specific unusual inflow.

“There was generally a dull mood prevailing in the market. There was not much activity on the demand side,” said treasurer of a foreign bank.

In the kerb market the dollar closed unchanged at Rs58.95/ Rs59.05 as claimed by the Forex Association of Pakistan. But a leading money changer said that the dollar fell to Rs58.90/Rs58.95.
