LAHORE, Oct 6: Odds-on favourite Desert Dream powered to a narrow win in the Islamabad Cup run over 1200 metres under jockey M. Hanif, the feature event of the Lahore Winter Meeting Sunday.

Desert Dream trained by Mohammad Bashir scored a short-head victory over front-runner Perfect Timing with Blu’s Wendy and Devi Husn Ki finishing third and fourth among seven starters.

In the final furlong Perfect Timing was leading by about two lengths when Desert Dream made a grand move. Both were locked in a battle in the run to the finishing line in a thrilling finish.

Later in the sixth and supporting event Bureaucrat put up a high performance to win the event run over 1200 metres equalling the record scored a race earlier by Desert Dream, one minute 12 2/5 seconds.
