ISLAMABAD, Oct 5: Fire broke out in the premises of Islamabad Airport on Saturday evening, destroying vegetation and causing concern among the Civil Aviation authorities.

According to eye-witnesses, workers were boiling coal tar alongside the airport mosque when fire erupted due to a ‘spark’ at about 5pm.

The fire soon spread, destroying a tree and some other plants. The Civil Aviation fire-fighters rushed to the scene and brought the fire under control, the airport authorities said. The real cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, however, negligence of the workers cannot be ruled out.
