Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, Oct 4: Three ships including Morning Glory to load 25,000 tons of naptha are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday.

According to KPT six ships, Dagmar, Al-Mirqab and Mar Challenger to unload and load containers, Song Shan to offload general cargo, Centauri to offload sugar and Antigoni-B to offload DAP fertilizer were berthed after the departure of eight.

The ships, which departed were led by Kota Berani, MSC Rosa-M, Kota Wirawan, Ocean Genius, Kota Tegap, Iran Meead, Khairpur and Mariella sailed out, while Chitral and Al-Mirqab are due to sail out on Saturday.

Berth occupancy at the oil piers was nil as no oil tanker called on the port, while it fell to 48 per cent at the dry wharves.

A total tonnage of 47,723 tons comprising 15,690 tons of export cargo and 32,033 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Morning Glory, to load naptha, Conti Valencia and Izumo to unload and load containers.

Port Qasim


KARACHI, Oct 4: Cargo handling activity remained brisk at the port where 56,546 tons of cargo comprising 34,166 tons of import cargo and 22,380 tons of export cargo was handled during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Friday.

A container ship was berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal during the period.

Six ships were at the berths loading/offloading wheat, containers, iron ore, and edible oil.

Sailing activity remained slow as only one ship, Encounter sailed out while Anan and Fuji Hoshi were expected to leave the port on Friday.

Following ships were at the outer anchorage:

Prudhoe Wheat IFA
