KARACHI, Oct 2: Seven ships carrying containers, fertilizer and general cargo are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where all the new arrivals were berthed soon after their signals from the outer anchorage. The are: Wan Hai-305, MOL Sincerity, APL Costa Rica and Kota Berani to offload and load containers, Sorena to unload crude oil and Mariella to offload gas oil.

Sailing on the other hand was modest as four ships, Jamila, HSH Ubin, Wan Hai-305, and Filma Satur departed, while Sorena, APL Cost Rica, Darya Dhayan, Indardi, Progresso, Kota Berani, Felicity and Iran Meead are due to sail out on Thursday.

The total tonnage handled rose to 0.138m tons comprising 31,732 tons of export cargo including 19,750 tons of molasses and 0.106 tons of import cargo including 70,000 tons of oils.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Al-Mirqab, Sima Kiji, Dagmar, Mar Challenger, with containers, Anti Gonib, with 26,000 tons of DAP fertilizer, Centauri, with sugar for Afghanistan and Song Shan with general cargo.
