GNA promises Balochistan’s development

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, Oct 1 : The Grand National Alliance (GNA) has termed the situation at the Pakistan-India border “very dangerous” and urged both the countries to initiate a dialogue for resolving conflicts.

A resolution to this effect was adopted in a public meeting of GNA held here on Monday at Ayub Stadium. The National Awami Party chief Ajmal Khan Kahttak presided over the meeting while Sardar Farooq Khan Laghari and other leaders of the alliance spoke on the occasion.

The resolution noted that the border situation would prove very harmful to both the countries. Negotiations was the only way for settling all issues, it added.

“India should withdraw its army from the borders for reducing tensions,” the resolution demanded, and added that an atmosphere conducive to dialogue was sorely needed.

Earlier, Farooq Leghari declared that GNA would rid the country of loot and plunder, and mount a campaign to bring back the ill-gotten money stashed away abroad by the past rulers.

He said that GNA and its component parties were taking part in the elections to alleviate poverty, reduce unemployment and protect the future of the youths.

“We will save Pakistan and its future with the help and cooperation of the people,” he said.
