KARACHI: 380 KPP schemes completed

KARACHI, Oct 1: All the 380 approved schemes of the Khushhal Pakistan Program, Phase I, were completed in 1999-2000.

A total of 15725 persons were provided employment through these scheme, while expenditure incurred on such schemes was Rs592.203 million.

The development schemes completed under the KPP Phase I consisted of 108 schemes of repair and resurfacing of small rural roads, 79 schemes of essential repairs of existing primary and high schools, 62 of farm to market roads, 41 of sewerage and of garbage collection, 27 of rehabilitation of water supply schemes, 26 of pavement streets, drains, storm channels in the villages, 22 of provision and renovation of civil amenities in towns, municipal committees and corporations and 15 schemes of maintenance/creation of water reservoirs/ponds.—PPI
