KARACHI: Protests against task force planned


KARACHI, Oct 1: A joint action committee, comprising teachers from all over the country, student bodies, doctors and parents’ associations, on Tuesday announced that they will hold countrywide protest rallies and will boycott educational activities in all the provincial capitals against recommendations of the task force on higher education and the model university act which has been approved by the federal cabinet.

Speaking at a press conference at the Govt S.M. Arts College, members of the action committee, including representatives of the Federation of All-Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Associations, Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association, Muttahida Talaba Mahaz and the Parents Educational Forum, termed the model university act “a black law”.—PPI
