HYDERABAD, Sept 29: Four children died after taking pesticides in New Saeedabad, some 40 km off here on Sunday.

The deceased were Gopi, 2, Khem Chand, 2, Bhang Chand, 4, and Wazeer, 6.

Five children were playing in a chili field while their parents were spraying crops with pesticide.

The children found some bottles of pesticides and had a big intake of it.

Consequently they lost their senses.

They were taken to the civil hospital where four of them were pronounced dead.

The fifth girl child, Lachhmi Devi, was admitted to the paediatrics ward of the hospital.

REMAND: The Hussainabad police have obtained a seven-day remand of police constable Fida from the relevant court.

The arrested constable has been kept at the police station after he killed his two minor daughters, Asma and Saima, and seriously injured another, Fareeda, with a club.
