KARACHI: Dept of environment planned

KARACHI, Sept 28: Realizing the need for establishing a separate department for improvement of environment in urban and rural areas, the Sindh government has moved the federal government for its approval, which will soon be finalized through the National Reconstruction Bureau.

This was disclosed by chief secretary K.B. Rind while speaking at an inter-school and college debate organized by an NGO - Progress - at the FPCCI auditorium on Saturday.

Minister for forest and wildlife Hassan Ali Chaniho presided over the function.

The chief secretary said better environment reflected human civilization and culture and that students and women could play an important role in creation of such an atmosphere that would benefit the future generations.—PPI
