KARACHI: Cleaning of sewerage line continues

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Sept 28: Cleaning of a 16,000-foot-long sewerage line from Clifton, Block 4, to Civil Lines is in progress and it is expected to be finished within two months, says a press release.

The sewerage line was laid in 1960 and it has not been cleaned since then. The pipeline originally had 48 inches diameter. Now the diameter is only 18 inches. The rest is filled with refuse.

City Nazim Naimatullah Khan, along with the officials of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, inspected the line. He said it was unfortunate that the sewerage line had been neglected so much. He added that after the cleaning of the line, the sewage problem of Clifton, Block 4, would be resolved.
