Killed men Pakistanis, claims India

AHMEDABAD, Sept 27: India alleged on Friday that the two militants who gunned down 31 people in a temple in Gujarat state earlier this week were Pakistan nationals.

The Press Trust of India, quoting investigators, had earlier identified the two as Mohammed Amjad Bhai of Lahore and Hafiz Yasir of Attock. “I can confirm they were Pakistani nationals,” the source said. He could not confirm the names of the two militants nor their cities of origin.

The PTI had said there was no firm indication as to which group the militants belonged to, even though leaflets found on their bodies claimed they owed allegiance to Tehrik-i-Kisas.—AFP
