Shahbaz, Kulsoom pleas rejected

LAHORE, Sept 27: A bench of the Lahore High Court on Friday refused to give relief to PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif and Kulsoom Nawaz and upheld the verdict of the election tribunal which had disqualified them earlier this month from contesting the Oct general election.

The bench members observed that they had perused the written orders of the election tribunal and found nothing on record to show that the detailed judgment had been issued after the lapse of the tribunal on Sept 13.

After the pronouncement of the short order, the counsel for the petitioners, Ashtar Ausaf Ali, said he would challenge the decision of the full bench before the Supreme Court as soon as he got the copy of the detailed judgment.
