THATTA: Two sugar mill officers detained

THATTA, Sept 27: The general manager, Shah Murad Sugar Mills, Jhoke Sharif, Nusrat Ali Khan, and its manager finance, Iqbal Omer, were detained by the police on Friday following the failure of reconciliation talks between the union leaders, factory representatives, and the district administration regarding the retrenchment of 114 permanent employees at the DCO office, Makli.

The police is said to be waiting for a “go ahead” for arresting Yasin Shahid (manager administration) and Mehmood Ali Khan (assistant security officer) of the factory following the failure of reconciliation talks between the union leaders, factory representatives, and the district administration regarding the retrenchment of 114 permanent employees.

Sources said that the general manager and the general manager finance had been detained, and the police had been asked to arrest the remaining persons involved.
