KARACHI: Govt making all efforts to arrest killers
KARACHI, Sept 27: Governor Sindh Muhammedmian Soomro said on Friday that different teams were working round the clock for the arrest of the terrorists involved in the killing of seven persons in Karachi on Wednesday. He said all the concerned departments and agencies were working in close coordination and hopefully the culprits would soon be arrested. He was addressing at the condolence meeting held at Holy Trinity Church for those killed in the incident.
Bishop of Karachi, Church of Pakistan, Right Rev. Sadiq, Father Emanual of the Roman Catholic Church and Victor Emanual also spoke on the occasion.
Governor Soomro condemned the incident, terming it an act of fanaticism. Offering condolence to the families of the victims, he said the grief he felt could not be expressed in words.
He assured that security measures would be tightened further and made effective so that no such incident occurred in future. He added that the government was making every effort and utilizing all the available resources to safeguard property and lives of the citizens.
“As a precautionary measure, the government is concentrating on the security of churches, temples and other places of worship throughout the province”, he said.
Chief secretary K.B.Rind, IG police Syed Kamal Shah, home secretary Brig (R) Mukhtar Ahmed, city Nazim Naimatullah Khan, city police chief Asad Jehangir and other officials were also present on the occasion.—PPI
