Education uplift plan initiated

MIRPURKHAS, Sept 25: The provincial education department is initiating a 15-year development plan for primary, elementary, non-formal and adult education.

The additional secretary education Sindh, Prof Anwar Ahmed Zai, said while briefing the participants of a meeting here on Wednesday.

The additional secretary education said that the plan envisages determining requirements for establishing new schools, appointment and training of teachers.

Prof Zai said that a team, comprising senior officers, has been constituted to prepare separate projects for each district. He added that the team had already held meetings with concerned district administrations in this regard.

District projects, he said, have been finalised for Hyderabad, Thatta, Mirpurkhas, Mithi, Sanghar, Dadu and Badin.

Projects for Khairpur, Ghotki, Nawabshah, Naushahro Feroze, and Sukkur will be finalised in Sukkur on Sept 28, while projects for the remaining districts, including Larkana, Shikarpur, and Jacobabad will be reviewed in Shikarpur on Sept 29.—Correspondent
