KARACHI: Minimum age for SSC exam

KARACHI, Sept 24: The minimum age limit for appearing in the SSC part I examination (class 9th) as a regular candidate is 14 years-plus, an announcement of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi said on Tuesday.

It was pointed out that a decision to this effect had been taken by the Board in an earlier meeting.

The Board pointed out that due to the commencement of the SSC examination in March during the past years, the minimum age limit had been continued to be counted on March 1.

Now to implement the decision in letter and spirit it will be 14 years-plus on May 1 of the year in which the candidate will appear in the SSC annual examination, the statement added.

It was pointed out that heads of recognized secondary schools were informed about the decision of the Board that they should not allow admission from next year to those candidates in class I who are below the age of five years plus and they should obtain condonation letters from the Board for the already admitted students in the year 1992, who would be affected by the amendment.—APP
