KARACHI, Sept 24: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal’s president, Allama Shah Ahmad Noorani, has said that the alliance will rid Karachi of terrorism and unemployment and put it on the road to peace, progress and prosperity.
“By stamping on “the book” on October 10, the people will help eliminate soaring prices and the culture of corruption,” he said while speaking at an election meeting in Gulshane Iqbal on Monday night.
Allama Noorani said that the alliance had started the journey of the renaissance of Islam, and the enthusiasm of people and the unity of religious parties would lead Pakistan to its ultimate goal.
He said that the MMA would not allow those to be imposed on the people of Karachi who had been indulging in extortion and murders of youths.
“The people of Karachi are fed up with price hike, unemployment, multiplication of taxes and the luxuries of rulers. They are looking to MMA for justice, equality and employment.”
The MMA chief said that the alliance would not take dictation from outside the country and all policies would be framed in the country.
Asadullah Bhutto, who is a candidate from NA-253, speaking on the occasion, said that the people’s confidence in” “the book” was an indication that the future of the country would be in safe hands of true and religious leadership and October 10 would prove to be the day of change.
BROTHERHOOD: Central Secretary General of Jamaat-i-Islami, Syed Munnawar Hassan, has said that the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal has pledged to make Karachi the city of lights and brotherhood once again, adds APP.
He was speaking at various corner meetings regarding the election campaign of MMA candidates here on Monday. He urged the people to vote for the MMA so that peace and harmony could return to the city.
Syed Munnawar Hassan, who is also a candidate in the October 10 elections for a National Assembly seat, said that these elections are important for the country’s progression and development.
He said that the people of Karachi have witnessed difficult periods in the past, and the time has come to provide justice to the people. Other leaders of the MMA also spoke.
