KARACHI: Jobs Haqiqi’s top priority

By Our Reporter

KARACHI, Sept 23: The Mohajir Qaumi Movement has said that provincial autonomy is not the biggest problem of the Mohajirs whose top priorities include employment, education and peace.

This was stated by MQM Chief Afaq Ahmad at different meetings in Korangi on Saturday night. He was of the view that provincial autonomy, alluded to in the 1973 Constitution, represented aspirations of the people of different provinces.

Mr Ahmad said that if the rulers had acted sincerely in accordance with the constitution, most of the problems of the people would have been resolved.

SDA: SDA Secretary -General Al-Haj Shamimuddin, speaking to the alliance’s district office-bearers here on Sunday, appealed to the chief election commissioner, the Sindh governor and the chief secretary to take action against those Nazimeen, who were not only harassing the SDA candidates, but were also misusing the development funds.

MILLAT PARTY: The Millat Party has asked the election commission to proceed against the Nazims as they were transgressing powers and indulging in favouritism, adds APP.

In a joint statement, Millat Party leaders Khalid Mumtaz and Nadeem Mirza said it augurs well that all parties relating to Karachi are participating in elections this time with a positive and pro-country approach.

All contesting parties should forge an atmosphere of mutual respect to revive the glory of Karachi.
