KARACHI, Sept 23: Eight ships, including two carrying 76,000 tons of DAP fertilizer and one with sugar are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where six ships to unload and load containers and sugar were berthed after the sailing of three.

The ships, which were berthed included PONL Singapore, Kota Intan, Mar Challenger, Jamila, and Bunga Teresek to unload and load containers, and Sea Auckland to offload sugar for Afghanistan.

Three ships, Kota Intan, Islamabad, Torm Sita sailed out, while Kota Waris and PONL Singapore are due to depart on Tuesday.

Berth occupancy at the oil piers was nil as no oil tankers called on the port, while it rose to 52 per cent at the dry wharves.

Owing to lesser handling of the liquid cargo, the total tonnage fell to 19,896 tons comprising 5,255 tons of export cargo and 14,641 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Zhuang He, Kota Salam, Al-Ihsa, APL Caro, with containers, Felicty-1, Dary Adhayan, with 33,000 and 43,531 tons of DAP fertilizer and Johar, with crude oil.
