SUKKUR, Sept 21: Sindh education minister Khan Mohammad Dahri has said that all out efforts were being made to raise the literacy ratio by establishing more schools in Sindh.
This, he said, while visiting Government High School, Kandhra, Rohri taluka, Sukkur district on Saturday.
He said that hundreds of thousands rupees had been allocated to give free books to primary students and to give scholarships to meritorious students and stipends to poor students.
He said that a committee would be constituted to check the performances of school management committees.
Responding to a question, Dahri said that teacher’s son quota in the education department was being maintained and 254 teachers had been promoted. He added that he had directed the education authorities to dispose of the pending promotion cases by Sept 30.
