KARACHI: Man commits suicide Six cars, 10 bikes hijacked

KARACHI, Sept 21: A father of two committed suicide in his house in Ibrahim Haideri police limits on Saturday because of financial problems.

Police said that Ahmed Mustafa, aged 25, a bus driver, committed suicide by consuming poison. He had lately been facing problems in making ends meet. Often he had arguments with his wife over the financial problems the family was facing.

CARJACKING: Sixteen vehicles — six cars and ten motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Saturday, police said.

Two cars were hijacked. Four others were stolen.

Four motorcycles were hijacked. Six others were stolen in different parts of the city, including Saddar, North Nazimabad, Gulberg, Korangi, and Lyari.

POLICE CASE: Police registered on Saturday a case against members of the Islami Jamiat Talaba for creating nuisance and for removing election flags and banners of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement in Nazimabad.

The incident occurred at Zubaida Polytechnic Institute where members of the IJT came on a bus and motorcycles. They removed flags of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and posters carrying photographs of the Muttahida chief, and hoisted flags of their party. The Muttahida alleged that the attackers took away one of their members with them. However, no injury was reported.

Police registered a case. No arrest has so far been made.

The IJT claimed that members of the APMSO demanded forced donation from them, and when they refused to pay donation, Muttahida men beat IJT men.
