KARACHI, Sept 20: Four ships carrying containers, crude oil and general cargo are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was relatively slow where two ships, Bunga Mas Satu to unload and load containers and Liano to load molasses were berthed after the sailing of six.

The ships, which departed, among others, included Dubai, Chitral, Bunga Mas Satu, Belguardian and Botany Triton, while Sinar Bantang, PONL Everst, Eso and Liano are due to sail out on Saturday.

Berth occupancy fell to 33 and 45 per cent both at the oil piers and the dry berth owing to delay in arrivals.

Cargo handling was active thanks to larger handling of liquid tonnage, totalling to 65,846 tons comprising 17,327 tons of export cargo and 48,519 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Ievoli Shine, with crude oil, Hyundai Advance, PONL Singapore, with containers and Khairpur, with general cargo.
