KARACHI, Sept 19: Three ships carrying containers and fertilizer are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where all the new arrivals were berthed. They are: Sima Kija, Dubai, Helual to unload and load containers, Favorita to load wheat under an export deal, Sorena and Botany Triton to offload crude oil and chemicals.

Sailing on the other hand was slow as only two ships, APL Pusan and LMZ Evina departed, while Belgaurdian, Botany Triton, Sima Kija, Chitral, Bunga Mas Satu, Sorena and Helual are due to sail out on Friday.

After several lean days, berth occupancy at the wharveswas above normal 100 percent at the oil piers and 60 per cent at the dry wharves respectively.

Owing to larger handlingof liquid tonnage, the total rose to 91,690 tons compris-ing 25,562 tons of export cargo and 66,128 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Friday: Eos-1, PONL Everst, with containers and GST Sunrise to offload 20,000 tons of DPA fertilizer.
