KARACHI, Sept 17: Six ships carrying containers, chemicals and crude oil are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Trade Eternity, Kota Wangi, Islamabad to offload and load containers and general cargo, and LMZ Evinca to unload crude oil were berthed after the departure of five.

The ships, which departed included Jamila, Wan Hai-302, Ocean Luna, Kota Wangi and Johar, while Golden Gate, Trade Eternity and LMZ Evina are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Owing to slow arrivals, the berth occupancy remained modest at 33 and 30 per cent both at the oil piers and dry berths respectively.

Cargo handling activity was also modest as the total tonnage handled amounted to 63,307 tons comprising 11,067 tons of export cargo and 52,240 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: APL Pushan Sima Kija, Dubai and Heluan, to unload and load containers, Sorena, with 67,000 tons of crude oil and Botany Triton, with 3,430 tons of chemicals.
