KARACHI, Sept 16: President Pervez Musharraf has said that development of defence industry is imperative to face any threat to the country.

Inaugurating IDEAS-2002, the defence exhibition, at the Expo Centre on Monday, the president pointed out that Pakistan’s defence industry had developed to an extent where it can be introduced to other countries.

Gen Musharraf said that the defence industry was exporting its products to other countries side by side meeting the requirement of the country’s armed forces.

Pakistan, he pointed out, was pursuing the policy of ‘arms for peace’ which was also necessary for the regional peace.—APP
