Karachi Port operations

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Sept 16: Five ships carrying containers, crude oil and to load molasses are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest owing to delayed arrivals and as result four ships were berthed. They are: Jamila, Wan Hai-301, Parvat and Ocean Luna, which unload and load containers.

Three ships, Mar Challenger, Jamila, and Nur Al-Jubail departed, while Ocean Luna, Parvat and Kota Dang are due to depart on Tuesday.

Owing to lower berthing and sailing, the berth occupancy at the wharves was modest at 33 and 38 per cent at the oil berths and dry wharves respectively.

A total tonnage of 64,215 tons comprising 6,844 tons of export cargo and 57,371 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Sorena, with crude oil, Liano, to load molasses, Chitral, Sinar Bantang and APL Pusan, with containers.
