Mixed fortune for spikers

ISLAMABAD, Sept 12: The Pakistan volleyball team, competing in the Asian Junior Championship in Tehran beat Thailand 3-1 in their second match after losing the first one to Korea.

A spokesman for the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) said that Ehsan Iqbal, Bakht Risal and Amjad put up a good show in the 25-16, 25-18, 19-25, 25-18 win over the Thais.

Earlier Pakistan were blanked 25-22, 25-22, 29-27 by the strong Koreans.

Pakistan were to play Kuwait late Thursday, the spokesman said.
