KARACHI: Progress depends on development of science


KARACHI, Sept 12: Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Prof Dr Ataur Rehman, has said that progress in any country can only be achieved through development made in the field of science and technology.

He was addressing scientists during a visit to the PCSIR Laboratories, Karachi Complex here on Wednesday.

The focus on this sector is the foremost priority of the government, Dr Ata said, adding that for this very reason, huge funds have been allocated for research and development.

On the occasion, the minister saw various products produced at PCSIR’s Karachi Labs, and appreciated the efforts of the scientists on this count.

The Chairman PCSIR, Dr Anwarul Huq, apprised the minister about research activities being carried out at the PCSIR.

The Director General PCSIR, Syed Naeem Mahmood, highlighted the activities of the laboratory.—APP
