OKARA, Sept 11: Strict action will be taken against illegal and anti-state NGOs and those who are creating rift between tenants and the military farm administration.
This was stated by Rangers director general Maj-Gen Hussain Mehdi while speaking to gatherings of tenants at the Government Higher Secondary School, Renala Khurd, and farms headquarters, Okara.
He contradicted rumours that the army would back out from the agreement signed with the tenants.
As of now, he claimed, over 1,500 tenants in three tehsils had signed the agreement which would be implemented in letter and spirit.
After the general elections, he said that he would recommend the government to check the accounts of NGOs besides taking notice of their other activities.
Mr Mehdi also directed SSP Aslam Tareen to hold open kutcheris in villages to do away with criminal cases registered against tenants and the military farms administration.
Meanwhile, leaders of the Anjuman Mazareen Punjab (AMP) said that tenants were forcibly taken to attend official gatherings by the rangers and police.
