Faculties clinch title

KARACHI, Sept 7: Faculties (21 points) won the Inter-collegiate karate championship with Superior Commerce College, Shahre Faisal Colony, (20 points) in second place. Five colleges contested the event.

Results:

Open weight: M.Afzak (Faculties); Tahir Ali (Superior Commerce College); M. Imran (DHA)

70 k.g. M.Rashid (Faculties); Najmul Haq (Superior Commerce College); Khalid (Jinnah Medical College)

65 k.g. Amir Nishat (St. Pats); Haider Ali (Superior Commerce College); Farman (DHA)

55 k.g. Kamran Khan (Superior Commerce College); M.Asif (Faculties); Junaid (St. Pat’s)

Meanwhile, Faculties and Sir Syed Girls College will meet in the semifinals of the Inter-collegiate girls tennis tournament after beating Islamia Girls College 2-1 and St. Joseph’s College 2-0 in the quarterfinals.

DHA College for Women has already qualified for the final.

Faculties bt Islamia Girls College 2-1 Nadia (Faculties) lost to Ayesha (Islamia) 0-6, 1-6; Nadia & Ghazala bt Ayesha/Naila (Islamia) 6-4, 6-3; Ghazala (Faculties) bt Nyla (Islamia) 6-0,6-0 Sir Syed Girls College bt St. Joseph’s College 2-0 Mahrukh (Sir Syed) bt Sumera (St. Joseph) 6-0.6-0; Mahrukh & Shabana bt Sumera/Asma 6-0, 6-0.
