In a statement issued here on Saturday, he accused the local police of acting as the personal servants of the former Sindh chief minister.

The former federal minister told Dawn that he had informed the Additional IGP, Abdur Rauf Yousufzai, on Friday, that the DSP, Mehar, Tipu Sultan, was using his position to exert pressure on the voters, to vote for Liaquat Jatoi.

He demanded that the police official should be transferred immediately to ensure a free election in the constituency, or he would invite the international media to monitor the polls in the area.
