KARACHI: Kidnapped boy recovered

KARACHI, Sept 6: A three-year-old boy, who had been kidnapped on Thursday, was recovered on Friday in New Karachi by police and the Citizen-Police Liaison Committee.

Mohammad Bilal Raza, had gone missing late on Thursday night from sector 11-G, New Karachi. His family reported the matter to police.

On Friday afternoon, the family started receiving calls demanding ransom for Rs300,000 for releasing Bilal. Police and the CPLC were informed.

Murad Soni, CPLC central chief, said: “We put the telephone under observation and detected the caller’s identification. Then we raided the place and nabbed the man with the help of police.”

Police said the man, identified as Kamran, had taken the boy captive at his house in the same vicinity. The police recovered the boy and detained the wife of Kamran for abetting her husband in the kidnapping. An FIR 138/2002 under section 365-A was registered against the suspects.
